180th anniversary of the Russian steam locomotive, part 6

Today is celebrated the Builder’s Day (official professional holiday since 1956). And it’s a good reasn to talk about the greatest construction of the USSR – BAM. Yet more about the steam locomotive, which transported many of BAM’s builders than about the Baikal-Amur Mainline itself. The locomotive of type 36, abbreviated P36 earned the nickname «General» for the characteristic color «stripes», sometimes mistakenly called Victory (see. http://dreamenglish.ru/?p=151). This locomotive was manufactured from 1950 to 1956. Last locomotive of this series was the last steam locomotive built for the Kolomna plant. It was operated as a locomotive for the passenger trains with a larger load.
