Locomotive 9P series, a small, but powerful and economical. Used in the USSR for transportation.
Locomotive Su (short for «Sormovskiy enhanced»; nicknames — «Sushka», «Soviet Prairie» and «Sumka» (for the Sum modification)) was produced from 1924 to 1951 on the basis of the best Russian Empire express locomotive of the Sv modification, but due to significant structural difference it can rightly be considered the first Soviet passenger steam locomotive. This versatile machine could carry heavy multi-car trains at a moderate speed. It was operated on the vast majority of Soviet railways until the late 1960s. It is considered one of the best locomotives in the world.
